If you have a measuring tape and some painter's tape, you can mark off where to hang pictures so that they’re straight. First, you need to ascertain the center of the picture from the front side. If you’re uncertain where the center of the picture is, lay it down and use your measuring tape to find the center. Mark the center with a small piece of tape.<\/p>\n

Next, decide where you want the bottom of the picture to be. Mark the spot on the wall with a tiny dot with a pencil. Then, start your measurement from the floor and go up to the dot, noting the number of inches. Place a piece of painter's tape horizontally at that spot. Next, measure up from the floor again, this time several inches to the side. Be sure not to go beyond the width of the picture you’re hanging. When you reach the correct number of inches, place another piece of tape. Now all you have to do is place your picture so the bottom is flush with the tops of the two pieces of tape. Holding the picture in place, use your pencil to mark another tiny dot where you should place the nail, using that first piece of tape as your marker. Finally, you don’t want to leave tape and pencil dots, so erase the dots and carefully remove all your tape. Voila! A perfectly straight picture without ever having to use a level!<\/p>\n
